Mahali Pa Watoto means ‘Place for the children’ in Kiswahili. It is a pre school (ages 3-7yrs) for some of the poorest children from Dagoretti, Nairobi.
Mahali Pa Watoto is on the outskirts of Dagoretti village and is an oasis of care. In a few short years the school teaches basics like reading writing and arithmetic and provides clothing, food, discipline and the social skills needed to enter the state system. This is an escape route for these poor children.
The project aims to provide comfort, guidance, protection, a foundation of Christian principles, and basic education in reading, writing and arithmetic for destitute children.
